I am pleased to formally announce David Schuff as the new Chair of the Department of Management Information Systems. David was one of the first MIS faculty hires in 2000 when the department was founded. He has been one of the top contributors to the success and national stature of the MIS department on research, teaching, and service (see biography below). A few highlights include winning the MIS teacher of the year 13 times, receiving the Temple Lindback Award and the Teradata Teaching Innovation Award, significantly contributing to curriculum innovation, being recognized for one of the most cited research papers at Fox, and leading many initiatives including recent innovations such as the Temple and National Analytics Challenge. Perhaps most importantly he is one of the most engaged and committed faculty members in the department.
After seventeen years as chair, I am excited to see where we can go next. I want to thank each of you for your support. Please know that we are incredibly lucky to have David as chair, I am confident that he can take the department to even higher levels. I will be around supporting him through the transition period. His appointment is effective July 1.
