Quail Hill Trail Connector Ribbon-Cutting
Trail connects Irvine's Open Space Preserve to a
larger trail network and to the Pacific Ocean

Residents are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the Quail Hill Trail connector on Saturday, March 20 at 8:30 a.m. This is another piece of the open access trail network that connects the Irvine Open Space Preserve to the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and Crystal Cove State Park trail systems. The official ribbon- cutting ceremony will be held at the Quail Hill Loop Trailhead, followed by a two-mile hike with Mayor Sukhee Kang.

Quail Hill is located at the end of Sand Canyon Road (34 Shady Canyon Drive Irvine, 92603), and provides a great location for outdoor enthusiasts to connect to Irvine's extensive trail network including the Quail Trail connector. Quail Hill is considered multi-use and accessible to hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Dogs on leash are welcome on the Quail Hill Loop Trail.

One of Irvine's most beloved Natural Landmarks, Quail Hill is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species including White-tailed Kites, Northern Harriers, Western Meadowlarks, coyotes, gopher snakes and western fence lizards.

The City's commitment to preserving open space began in June 1988, when Irvine voters overwhelmingly approved the historic Open Space Initiative, which protects the plants and animals in Irvine's Open Space Preserve. This vision created a unique quality of life for Irvine residents that enables them to easily explore and enjoy Irvine's natural resources and open spaces.
